The month of November is a time that we especially focus on thankfulness. Of course, thankfulness is something that we should practice every day, all the time. Thankfulness is like laughter and joy; it is a medicine for the soul. Thankfulness grows us in humility and selflessness. Thankfulness points our thoughts away from US and to OTHERS and GOD.
I would like to start out this November 1st by being thankful for a few things. They are just normal, every day things; nothing huge or amazing has happened lately. But thankfulness is something that we need to practice in order to grow in it. I once read a study that suggested that people who expressed thankfulness usually live longer and more fulfilled lives....so let's get started!
I am thankful to God for:
- Samuel has been sleeping well at night for 8+ hours this week!
- We received an unexpected insurance refund from Samuel's birth at the birth center!
- Lydia enjoys school
- Lydia's public school teacher is very conscientious and cares about Lydia individually
- Lydia and Luke love playing together
- Samuel can hold/play with toys!!
- We get to see both of Nathan's grandparents this month and introduce them to Sam
- We have more provisions than we need; a house, clothing, food, etc.
- Nathan's mom is doing well
