Entering the 21st Century

This Hardenbrook family does not like technology. Technology does not like us. It's really a very equal relationship - until we need technology and have no idea where to get it or how to use it. That's what the rest of our family is around to help with. :)

Let me give you a run down of the technology that we own:

- We have only one computer, a desk top, and it is pre-used and pieced together. We have the cheapest internet possible. I don't think they call it dial-up any more, but it's basically the same thing. Hey, it works for what we want to do....since we don't know very much to do with it.

- We do not have cable. We do not have netflicks. We don't even get any "free" channels anymore, because our converter box broke and it's $60 to replace it. (We bought it new a year ago) OR we could buy a new TV with a box in it. AND I think our DVD player/VCR is going to go soon; it's also a used hand-me-down.

- We have no type of tablet, kindle, etc. I don't even know if those are all different or the same.

- We have two cell phones. Did you know they still sell the kind that aren't smart phones? It's true!! Nathan's phone was a flip phone - yes, you feel like you're in the early 2000's reading that - and it didn't have texting at all. My phone had limited texting and minutes, with picture sending capabilities that only took a few minutes to process.

Ok, so here it is - our big technology buy - wait for it.........we got new phones and a new plan! They are still not smart phones, but they are also not flip phones. And we now both have unlimited talk and text. That's right - BAM! We are moving-up in the world....we can even text each other with pictures! I've never felt so close to my husband. :)
