Last night, Lydia asked what sugar bugs do. (Sugar bugs = cavities at our dentist) I told her that, if left on our teeth, they could cause little holes; and eventually our whole tooth could rot. I continued to explain that our teeth are important for chewing and talking and a whole bunch of things, and so we need to take care of them.
Finally I added that teeth can actually be so rotten that they can fall out, and some older people don't have teeth to eat or talk with. Lydia considered this and then said, "Well, you know great grandma, down in Georgia? She still has teeth. I know that because she was chewing gum the last time I went down there." :)
