At Christmas time, Luke was using a head/arm army crawl, that resembled a slow limp. Since then, he has gone to fast army crawl, all-fours crawl, pulling-up, cruising, and now he likes to walk while holding our hands. At Christmas he was also working on his first tooth, and he now has five. That has opened-up a whole new BIG world of confident solid food eating. :)
A few months ago Luke was starting to understand words we used, like "food" or "Lydia". Now he fully comprehends the whole day's schedule. He knows what "nap time", "food", "milk", "play with Lydia", and a variety of other phrases mean. He can respond too, and his babbling has taken on a whole new level over the past week. He is constantly looking us in the eyes and saying a string of "words" - usually emphasized with hand gestures as well. He will CLEARLY tell us what he wants to eat, drink, play with, where he wants to go. It's just crazy. His only real word so far is "uh-oh", but he uses it A LOT!
Another huge change in Luke was made about two weeks ago - he plays by himself now! This is both a physical and mental improvement, because he can now put himself into a sitting position, so he can play with any toy he wants to. He loves to page through books, or play with his truck or farm. It's adorable, and so very very helpful!

The cutest thing he just learned is how to give me a kiss. I ask for it a lot. :)
The poor kid - he's been sleeping quite a lot and eating like a bear; I guess growing really takes a lot of work. But it's paying off!
